Weekly Watch Focus: Egypt — Turmoil!

This Week's Watch City:  CAIRO, Egypt

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2011. It is imperative that all watchmen hear the call to pray for Egypt and other key nations in the Middle East. Egypt has kept peace with Israel for thirty years. The present riots in Egypt may initiate changes that could possibly usher the Muslim Brotherhood in as the main power-players. This group hates America and plans war on Israel. The same forces seem to be close to overthrowing the Hashemite monarchy in Jordan. The consequences of this turmoil could lead to major war with Israel, the dominance of violent Islamic Jihadism in these nations and increased poverty and suffering for the common people.

Pray that peace will return quickly to Egypt, Jordan, Yemen and the other nations affected. Pray godly wisdom for the leaders in these nations, in the U.S. and in Israel. Bind the spirit of anti-Christ and anti-Semitism. Pray for the Coptic Christians in Egypt.

Matt 5:9, “Blessed are the peacemakers; for they shall be called sons of God.”

Isaiah 19:19-25, “In that day there will be an altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the Lord at its border. And it will be for a sign and for a witness to the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to the Lord because of the oppressors, and He will send them a Savior and a Mighty One, and He will deliver them. Then the Lord will be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know the Lord in that day, and will make sacrifice and offering; yes, they will make a vow to the Lord and perform it. And the Lord will strike Egypt, He will strike and heal it; they will return to the Lord, and He will be entreated by them and heal them. In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian will come into Egypt and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians will serve with the Assyrians. In that day Israel will be one of three with Egypt and Assyria—a blessing in the midst of the land, whom the Lord of hosts shall bless, saying, ‘Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance’" (emphasis added).

Gen. 12:3, “I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

Ps 127:6, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you.”
