Watch Focus - Declaration of Dependence

Isaiah 33:22 & 24, “For the Lord is our Judge, The Lord is our Lawgiver, The Lord is our King; He will save us…” And the inhabitant will not say, “I am sick”; The people who dwell in it will be forgiven their iniquity.”

The founding proclamation of this nation is unique in all the world. In it we, as a people within these borders, affirm truth, given by revelation and acknowledgment of the God who created the universe as the Author of human dignity and agency. That life in every respect, freedom to exercise full human potential in thought, word, and deed, and ability to pursue a fruitful and rewarding life, is the endowment of Him who made us.

Recently a host of a major media network scoffed at this founding ideal. And then remarked that our rights come from the president! The reference of Isaiah 33 inspired our national system of three separate governing branches, each to hold the others in check under the consent of the governed.

As watchmen representatives of the governed, we declare our dependence for life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness, not on ourselves, or any governor or governing agency, but on Christ alone! We pray a prayer of repentance for our national ignorance and arrogance. We call for the recovery of a unified national story and vision, including revived honor for our flag, our anthem, our founding stories, and thanksgiving for forbearers of these ideals in each generation past. We pray restoration of a unified national meta narrative of our founding with a return to honor for God and His principles. We bind the powers of rebellion against God, of corruption and collusion, and of grifting and self-aggrandizement in the political class. We loose the power of the fear of the Lord and renewed proclamation of the gospel to save, deliver, and reform.

Wars and Rumors of Wars

Matthew 24:6, “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.”

Matthew 16:18-19, “on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

There are no fewer than 26 active militarized conflicts presently from Mexico, Central and South America, Africa, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Most if not all include American involvement directly or indirectly. Any one of them on any given day carries implications for Americans. Nearly all include some involvement by the U.S. at overt or covert levels.
Psalm 120:6-7, “My soul has long dwelt with him that hates peace. I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war.”

James 4:1, “From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?”

We take our position raised with Christ in His throne and bind the powers of war initiated by human lust and activated by human hands.  We speak peace to nations in conflict. We pray for cessation of violence. We bind the power of shed blood that calls for more shedding of blood. We pray for the populations in each of these conflict zones, that the gospel would run swiftly and bring salvation. “Lord, raise up the righteous and pull down the wicked in conflict. Hear the prayer of those in distress. We loose angels and the facility of every legitimate aid agency to come to their help.”

Terror Watch

Isaiah 33:18 “Your heart will meditate on terror: 'Where is the scribe? Where is he who weighs? Where is he who counts the towers?’ You will not see a fierce people, A people of obscure speech, beyond perception, Of a stammering tongue that you cannot understand.”

In the days of king Hezekiah, Israel was terrified at the inevitability of invasion. Assyria invaded and captured the entire northern kingdom and had come to the very gates of Jerusalem. Neither their fiscal power nor natural defense preparations could resist the invasion. Hezekiah turned in prayer to God for defense. God answered. He sent the invaders away and saved the city by prayer.

The invasion on our southern border has already allowed hundreds of thousands of military age men from every nation sworn to destroy America into our cities. Acts of terror are inevitable. We turn to our God in prayer. We bind the spiritual powers inspiring, inciting, and seeking to enable acts of terror within our borders. We loose the power of the name of Jesus, we loose the angels of God, to intervene, expose, and take captive every emissary of terror within our borders.

Psalm 127: “Unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.” The only people on earth with power to address “powers” are those who carry the name of Jesus.
Pray for your city, your neighborhood, and every place of public gathering.

Jerusalem A Royal diadem In the Hand of God

Isaiah 62:1-2 “For Zion’s sake I will not hold My peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, and her salvation as a lamp that burns. The Gentiles shall see your righteousness, and all kings your glory. I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent, and give Him no rest till He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.”

We renew our commitment to pray for the peace of Jerusalem until kings and nations exalt her.
