Weekly Watch Focus: Tornadoes in Central U.S.

FRIDAY, MAY 27, 2011. Devastating tornadoes ripped through the Central U.S. this week. Thousands have lost homes and more than one hundred have lost their lives in the tornadoes that touched down from Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, Missouri and Arkansas, including the EF5 tornado that destroyed 70% of the town in Joplin, MO. Pray for the continued search and rescue efforts in the regions affected. Pray comfort, strength and healing for the families who have lost so much. Bind the spirit of destruction and pray blessing, protection, peace and supernatural deliverance from further tornadoes and disasters in this season of storms.

2 Cor. 1:3, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction.”

Ps 23:4, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”

Ps. 104:30, “When you send forth your Spirit… you renew the face of the earth.”

Mark 4:39, “And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, ‘Peace! Be still!’ And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.”

2 Sam. 24:25b, “So the LORD heeded the prayers for the land, and the plague was withdrawn from Israel.”

Honor the U.S. Men and Women you have served in the Armed Forces

On this Memorial Day weekend, let us set aside time to honor the U.S. men and women who laid down their lives for our freedoms. Let us also hold up all our servicemen and women in prayer. May the Lord of Hosts cover and protect those in harm’s way in Afghanistan, Iraq and other parts of the world as they stand in the gap for our freedom. May they feel our love and support; may their families be blessed with provision and strength. We thank them and their families for their sacrifice. John 15:13, “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”

Ps. 20, “May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble; may the name of the God of Jacob defend you; may He send you help from the sanctuary, and strengthen you out of Zion; may He remember all your offerings, and accept your burnt sacrifice. Selah. May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, and fulfill all your purpose. We will rejoice in your salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners! May the Lord fulfill all your petitions. Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. They have bowed down and fallen; but we have risen and stand upright. Save, Lord! May the King answer us when we call.”
