Our watch focus this week is securing our national borders and putting rightfully elected righteous leaders in office.
 
“When the Most High divided their inheritance to the nations, when He separated the sons of Adam, He set the boundaries of the peoples according to the number of the children of Israel” (Deuteronomy 32:8).
 
    Peace and security is the leading responsibility of government. Scripture indicates God gives boundaries in which He ordains people to dwell in order that He be found by them. He does this not by any ethnic prejudice but with His good will for all: “He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that they should seek the Lord and find Him” (Acts 17:25-27).
    Our current national border is a catastrophic human travesty and severe national security crisis. Since 2020, over 10 million persons have illegally entered America. That is equal to the entire number of illegals previously in the U.S. Among new entries are at least 85,000 unaccompanied children reported missing in the past two years, an estimated 100,000 gotaways that include suspected terrorists and violent criminals from more than 150 nations, many of whom are declared enemies of America. Drug cartels are conducting a thriving billion dollar business trafficking drugs annually and the DEA reports that among Americans age 18-45 the leading cause of death is fentanyl overdose.
    Family inheritance, peace, and blessing is compassed within secure borders. “Thus says the Lord God: ‘These are the borders by which you shall divide the land as an inheritance among the twelve tribes of Israel’” (Ezekiel 47:13). “Violence shall no longer be heard in your land, Neither wasting nor destruction within your borders; But you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise” (Isaiah 60:18). “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan” (Psalm 29:2).
 
We pray for an immediate turnaround of the policies that are creating this lawless human disaster. We ask the Lord who ordains human life to remove and replace every contributor and restore our boundaries.
 
     “When leaders lead in Israel, when the people willingly offer themselves, Bless the Lord! Hear, O kings! Give ear, O princes! I, even I, will sing to the Lord; I will sing praise to the Lord God of Israel” (Judges 5:2-3). Deborah sang this song in Israel’s victory who was outnumbered 4 to 1 and had only light armor against Sisera’s 900 iron chariots. Before Deborah challenged Barak to step up and take the lead, God had appointed him to “village life ceased,” meaning the only place people were safe from lawless criminals was behind walled security of cities. The basic life forces, food and herds, and innocent family life, were under constant threat. Good leaders manage their authority properly, demonstrate righteous service, inspire sacrifice, and bring about victory over enemies. The qualifying character for good leaders includes self-discipline, a firm grip on truth, a life lived consistent with good values, and a faithful record of service (1 Timothy 3:8-12).
 
“Behold, a king will reign in righteousness, and princes will rule with justice” (Isaiah 32:1).
 
We pray for strong godly leaders to fill representative offices across this nation and in our capitol. We ask for genuine free, fair, secure presidential primaries and election in 2024.
 
 “Lord give us leaders such that it will be to Your glory to give us the victory through them.”
